IUD advice? Pain?

I’m getting the Mirena in a few weeks and curious to hear post-childbirth placement stories. I’ve heard it’s excruciating but only from friends without kids. Also, I’m worried if it’s that painful how would I keep still??

I got the mirena Sept. 10 and I've been bleeding since. Some old blood some new. You cramp after that's about it tho. Drs say its easier on pp woman cuz they're uterus is still shrinking so its easier to insert. Just take your choice of pain meds 30 min before your appointment to help.

I got it a few weeks ago and honestly didn’t feel a thing. I was worried too but I only heard horror stories from friends without kids. I barely even had cramping that day. I did get my period and it has been so long and now just continuous spotting 🤦🏼‍♀️ we’re talking going on 4 weeks, lol. BUT I haven’t had any cramping or feelings of PMS so it’s actually not been terrible.

I just got the paragard IUD in today, and I didn’t experience any pain, just some mild cramping after. I’ve heard mixed reviews on the Mirena (complaints of weight gain, mood swings, etc). I don’t know if the insertion and subsequent cramping are worse with the Mirena as compared to the copper one I got.

I got the Mirena placed two weeks ago. I didn't feel a thing. Maybe some very mild cramping. My doctor did it with an ultrasound which made all the difference in the world to me. I got my period this week but already it is very light and it doesn't feel like what it used to before pregnancy. I don't feel bloated or get cramps at all.

I got the mirena done about 5 weeks ago. Went in expecting it to be horrible and I barely felt a twinge! Mild cramps happen occasionally but nothing crazy. The only thing that sucks is I’ve been spotting ever since... can’t wait til the spotting ends!

I had the Liletta IUD placed a few weeks ago, and it was more uncomfortable than painful. My cervix is more sensitive than it used to be, so I think that’s why it bothered me. I had some minor cramping for a couple of hours and a little bleeding, but I was fine the next day and have had no problems since.
