I’m having this issue with my step son, we have been trying to get him to get his driving permit for over a year. He’s 16 and still does not have it because he keeps failing the test. We believe he’s failing on purpose cause he doesn’t want to drive. Where we live he has to have a permit for 12 months before they can get a license so we feel it is important he gets a permit soon. When we talk to him about it he just says he doesn’t ant to drive and when we ask him why he just says “I just don’t”. I’m talking to other parents it seems this is not unusual. I know there are a lot of younger people on here and I’m wondering if anyone can relate to this and give me some insight. We don’t live in major city with good public transportation, and he’s not the type to move to one so he needs to learn to drive. We’ve asked him if he’s scared and he says no.
