Wipes or cotton wool ?

Something has just occurred to me whilst writing my checklist is , 
How long do I use cotton wool for my newborn before moving onto wipes ?

We never used cotton wool, it is so much more faff and makes changing so much harder! And we have never had an issue with nappy rash in either of my girls

Always used Water Wipes! They are ace. Never had a nappy rash issue

I packed both but never used the cotton wool - too much of a faff getting warm water and checking the temperature and then drying little ones bits before putting on a nappy!
Also - stay away from water wipes! Honestly, any wipes are suitable from newborn (Johnson’s, pampers, buggies, Mamia, etc) and they push these ones for sakes tactics...they’re expensive!  They’re SO wet and cold, when I used them on my newborn he screamed because they were so cold and wet...especially coming into autumn/winter now!

I bulk bought about 30 microfibre cloths from eBay and used them with warm water, you can wash them at 60 degrees till baby is 3 months then 40 will do

I used cotton wool for the first day then switched to baby wipes as I couldn’t be arsed with the faffing around!!

We also found cotton wool too much faff lol, we used it in the hospital then just ripped open our big box of Pampers sensitive wipes as soon as we got home.

Only times cotton Wool is  worth doing is if baby gets nappy rash as wipes can irritate the rash (even water wipes made her scream in agony) just use sensitive wipes and your all good
