Talk about in the nick of time...

Je

First, I was due on 09/24/18; however, due to gestational hypertension and the start of preeclampsia, I had to be induced two weeks early. He was born on 09/11/18. I was having blood pressure issues for about 3 weeks straight. I went to the hospital twice for monitoring and on the 2nd trip, 09/10/18, is when my midwife and supervising physician decided it was best to induce since I wasn’t improving.

Now, the in nick of time story...

Our home doesn’t have a garage, so one of the bedrooms was used as storage while the other is my office as I work from home.

Not going to sugar coat it, we put off cleaning out the room for the nursery. We finally got it completely cleared in the beginning of August. The walls were painted and then we ordered the carpet.

Well Lowe’s vendor for the carpet kept delaying the delivery.

We ordered on 08/19/18 since we were told about two weeks prior that it would take only a week to arrive. We waited until the room was painted to get a better idea for choosing the carpet color.

So we ordered and were told it would be a week. I checked to see if it arrived a week later and I got the first delay story. “The carpet wasn’t actually in stock, so it had to be made. It’ll arrive the 30th”.

Then another delay pushed back to 09/03/18. Then pushed back again to 09/10/18. On that call, I told the associate that is ridiculous, I’d like a refund.

We were upset for sure but the icing on the cake is the associate told me, “We have a very similar carpet in stock that we can get cut for you now.” I asked how long has this been in stock and to no surprise, the associate says, “We always carry this one in stock.” I was flabbergasted that the previous associates didn’t recommend this alternative. So after a doctors appointment, I go by to see the carpet in person. It was actually a lot softer and the color to what we originally picked was so close. My husband liked it too so I told the associate to go ahead and get it cut for us. Due to the hell that I experienced with this carpet ordeal, I asked the associate to have it delivered to my home at no charge. This took place 09/06/18. They got the carpet delivered the next day. My uncle got the carpet installed that Saturday, 09/08/18. Then my husband got furniture assembled and I was able to complete the decoration. All of this was completed on Sunday, 09/09/18.

All of that didn’t help at all with my hypertension but I am so so glad the room got done just in the nick of time!
