My sisters story with cancer.

Yolanda

Since today is my sisters anniversary from passing away I decided to share her story. This is my sister Rebeka Rodriguez. She was the most positive person you could ever think of. Married, 3 babies at the time, softball/baseball mom. She was that one person you all know that would check on u and not even mention herself.

In 2000 she was diagnosed with throat cancer. She had been complaining about her throat and constantly coughing after weeks of this she finally decided to go to the doctors and what they found was a mass. After having it removed it had almost been 3 years of clearance until another check up.

My sister had gone for another screening to see if she was cancer free. After a couple of days after this she got the phone call while out with her children shopping for school, BREAST CANCER. Holding it together because she didn’t want to scare the kids she just responded ok.

Headed for another round of chemo, radiation, endless doctor visits she goes another two years cancer free.....(or so we thought)

After two years she gets news she has BREAST CANCER again, just on the other side.

Another year after.....bone cancer.....another two years.....the hardest one we got to know.....BRAIN CANCER.

She found out she had 4 massive tumors in her brain. Kids are now a junior in high school, a freshman in high school, and a 7th grader. She fought for years to beat this only to have doctors endlessly tell her just love ur life u only have a short amount of time left....stop treatment....that was 3 years ago.

One more time did we get hit the the C word.....LIVER CANCER.

After trying to fight and push through....after 10+ years of chemo, radiation, and doctors last year today she took her last breathe. I love you sister and we’re all watching over your babies now. ( sophomore in college, senior in high school, and freshman in high school.) 😔🎀
