Do eyelash extensions make your real eyelashes fall out?

I’m thinking about getting mine done, but I’ve been hearing it makes your real ones fall out.

Your lashes naturally fall out but with them on you tend to notice more that they are coming out. 
A lot of people find they uncomfortable and pick or pull at them and make their natural lashes come out alone with the fake ones.

I mean your natural lashes fall out anyways.. in 3 different stages. I’ve had lash extensions for 5+ years and I take a break from them occasionally. But they aren’t the reason for your natural lashes to fall out.
