Peppermint tea safe?

Hi ladies, just wondering if any of yous had/has peppermint tea and is safe to drink? I’ve read so many things online and I’m just so confused. Some say it’s completely safe and I read somewhere else that it can cause mc?? I really want to drink it

I drank it during pregnancy when I had a cold because my doctor didn’t want me to use any medications and to just go with more natural remedies. My baby is 4 months now and perfectly fine.

The only thing I have heard is don’t do anything with peppermint when Brest feeding because it can mess with your milk production but I haven’t heard anything else about it?

My doctor said it was fine and to enjoy although it may cause stomach reactions. Just as long as the peppermint leaves are organic! Too each is own. I love peppermint tea and also my peppermint essential oil!

I have an answer to this as to what I was taught in school (I'm a massage therapist who works on prenatals). Peppermint tea is not necessarily dangerous, especially not I'm moderation, but peppermint in general is a stimulus which means that it can cause labor/contractions. Emphasis on the "can". I mostly tell clients no when I have a client that comes and wants peppermint oil (which is highly concentrated) for the safety of the baby. Though it's only a chance, it's still not a risk I'm willing to take. You're your own woman though and a peppermint tea once in a while shouldn't bother you at all.

My doctor told me unless I’m drinking some kind of exotic herbs, most tea is fine in moderation. But I’d double check with your doc to be safe!
