Just aggravated please help!

I've posted about this before but I'm just getting beyond frustrated. My son is 10 months old and ever since he was born it has been a fight just to get him to go to sleep. My mom always says shes never seen a baby fight sleep like he does. I have been trying for the past 2 and a half hours to get him to go to sleep and I'm just giving up now. I know hes tired. Hes yawning and rubbing his eyes but as soon as I try to get him to take a nap all hell breaks loose. He yells and cries as if I'm torturing him. I'm just getting so frustrated and dont know what to do anymore. He cries and cries and screams until he ultimately passes out from being so exhausted. I'm at my wits end. Something has to give.

@brandinicole I've tried rocking him, bouncing him, giving him a bottle, patting his butt, rubbing his belly, humming, shushing. I'm all out of ideas. The only sure fire thing that gets him to sleep with no fussing is taking him on a ride. But of course I can't take him on a drive anytime its nap time. I wish it was that simple 😖

I generally try to put him down for a nap anytime between 930 and 1130 depending on what time he woke up that morning. So usually about 3 to 4 hours after his initial morning wake up I will attempt to put him to sleep. He will begin to yawn and rub his eyes and snuggle into my neck when hes getting sleepy. It's as if everytime hes about to fall asleep he cries and cries. I dont know if its because he has a hard time getting past that light sleep phase before drifting off into rem sleep or if he just really doesnt want to go to sleep because he just has too much fun while hes awake.
