Dental hygienist here... Bleeding gums are a very common symptom of pregnancy. It's called pregnancy gingivitis and is caused by the hormonal changes associated with pregnancy. honestly I personally have never heard of that but now that its mentioned my gums have never bled randomly until I was pregnant (now 24 weeks) and it's happened about 4-5 times for me so far
