I don’t understand

His crib is in my room I can touch him from my bed. Well lately at bedtime he’s been having full blown fits at bedtime. I let him fuss a bit since we’re literally right next to each other then I go pat his back after awhile. But as soon as I stop he’s having a major meltdown again.

This is new. And no I don’t think he’s teething. I don’t understand. And he’s waking up at 5am often sometimes earlier.

What am I doing wrong ? I hate hearing him scream but I refuse to put him in bed with me (we used to bed share but stopped a few months ago and we were fine until now )
