Sweep ?

When do your midwifes allow you to get the membrane sweep I really want a as natural as possible labour (is the plan) but I’m 38weeks and feel like she’s getting massive for me (I’m 4”9😂) I really can’t imagine being pregnant for another 2weeks, has anyone else asked or know when ?

My community midwife didnt do sweeps I had to go to the maternity hospital to get mine. I had 3 done and still had to get induced 11 days overdue lol. Then 1 hour and 5 mins labour. Wouldn't change the birth at all! They do say waiting after 39 weeks is best due to the lungs being developed enough.

I had my midwife do a sweep at 38 and 39 weeks but no joy with them starting anything. Good luck x

I had three sweeps and nothing happened lol.

I was offered a sweep at what would have been 39+4 but ended up giving birth at 38+5 so it wasn’t necessary 😊

In my area offered at 41 weeks. Didn’t work 1st time, but worked with 2nd and 3rd babies within 24 hrs. I seem to like to hold on to mine for too long

I wasn't offered a sweep with my first 2 until I went over 40wks - community midwife did both.

I had a sweep at 39 weeks, it did start my labour but it took a while. I had completely natural birth in a pool in the hospital birthing centre. Your best to call you midwife office and ask when it is done in your area. Every place and even some midwives are different
