Can you distinguish between a messy house and a dirty house and does one bother you more than the other?

This question is for your home as well as other people’s home. 
Mess as in toys everywhere, books not in the bookshelf.
Dirt as in dust everywhere, garbage not in the bin but on the floor, etc.

I have a 3 year old and we are over run my toys, that being said my house is always dusted always clean dishes and laundry. Everything OTHER than toys are in there place. At the end of the day it’s my sons job to pick up his mess.

Idc about a messy house with toys and such.. that's just called living lol. Especially with kids, its almost impossible to not have a messy house at times. But if you have trash all over your floor and animal crap and such, I cant handle that and I wouldnt let me kids in that mess.

I used to have a career where I went into peoples homes a lot. You could definitely tell the difference between messy and dirty.  Messy is when life happens (esp with kids).  Dirty is when you’re not cleaning and is more of a health hazard. It can bring smells, bugs, and overall feels more unsanitary.  
Dirty is like you don’t want to sit down on a fabric covered surface because you don’t know what’s living in it and you wonder if that little pile is a tootsie roll or an animal turd. 😷

I have 3 little ones, toys are USUALLY EVERYWHERE. However, laundry is always done and so are the dishes, but no matter how much I dust it never goes away

I'm a house cleaner. Honestly there is a certain level of clutter and a certain level of dirt I can handle. But I hate when I go into a home and it is so spotless and almost empty cause there is absolutely no clutter, it feels like a staged home. Like no one lives there. 🤷

Theres definitely a very fine line between a lived in/cluttered home to a home that is just completely neglected. My home is definitely cluttered it's not always perfect but by no means is it neglected. If someone was to comment on my home I'd flip out 😂 I get some people have certain expectations on what a home should be  but dont comment on it. Some people struggle with depression or just have a small home with to much stuff. To have everything perfect constantly is unrealistic to me. That's just my opinion though.

Ugh my house is messy but not dirty. 
Unfortunately I’m not the mom who can handle a toddler and keep everything spic & span 😂 toys are on the floor, sometimes she gets into her drawers and throws her clothes everywhere, sometimes I’m behind on folding laundry ... 
But, there’s no animal messes from our dog, the carpets are vacuumed, floor is swept and mopped, smells good, and trash is taken out. So I think I do okay 🤣

My kids ensure my house is nearly always messy but I try hard to make sure it isn't dirty. There always varying amounts of toys, books, and clothing on the floor. But my countertops, floors and tables are constantly wiped. 
The difference between messy and dirty is filth. Stuff strewn about is just messy; dirt, sticky stuff, food particles, and garbage around is dirty.

Messy doesn’t bother me, but can’t stand dirty! My husband is the exact opposite 😂🤷‍♀️
