Depends on who you are. Knew a couple who were long distance doe 4-4 years after high school and ended up married. When I tried it for 6 months I hated it and that relationship failed. 
But I’m also a really emotional person and I need to have the comfort of proximity.

It’s hard and it takes a lot of communication but it’s possible. I’ve been doing it for about a year and four months and i hate it. It really tests my patience and lately I’ve been really anxious to narrow down when we can stop being long distance and move together. But I love him and I wouldn’t trade him for someone that lives closer. You can do it if you’re committed but ldr isn’t for everyone.

It’s working for me and my boyfriend. It’s all about trust and I trust him with my life. If I didn’t trust him at all, there’s no way I’d still be with him.

I was in a LDR. Now I’m engaged and living in Australia (from America). Constant communication and trust. It works (for the right couples) with hard work.
