The water test for evap lines

Laura

Alright because I’m a nut and can’t seem to stay off my phone researching I came across some light reading about the water test for evap lines. Theory has it if you have an evap line 4-5 drops of water added to the test will make the evap line disappear and if it’s positive the line will stay. So I decided to see for myself.

This test is 2 days old with a very clear evap that line wasn’t in the time frame!

Same test only added 5 drops now had I not taken another test this morning which was BFN I would probably be excited... this test failed the water test.

This test was taken early this morning clearly BFN with dye run.

4 drops of water added and the dye is all cleaned up. Still BFN!!

Clearly I would never rely on any results where water was added. Nor is this something I would do on a regular basis. I just thought it would be an interesting topic. Any thoughts, experiences, with this test?? Have any of you tried this and the results were correct? Please no bashing this isn’t what the post was created for.
