Maternity Leave Question...

I am due December 14th, and I tried talking with Human Resources for my company about maternity leave/fmla. Apparently I cannot get FMLA until November 29th, which is not the problem as I wanted to leave December 1st. The problem is if I have an emergency beforehand or my doctor thinks I can work up until my due date my work will give me a 30 day leave of absence until FMLA kicks in which means my job is not guaranteed when I get back. Is this normal or legal? I feel like something is not right about this. Does anyone know anymore information? I live in Illinois and my company is worldwide.

➡️I have been with this company a year as of June 1st, but because I transferred states last November they will only go off that date.
