I love my baby’s godparents to bit, but they are now divorced... I am more close to the godmother and she has made it clear that she does not want her ex to be the godfather anymore. In other hand, she (godmother) has not seen my son(her godson) since he was born- he is one year old now. She does not even ask after him or anything. I understand that she has been going through a divorce since he was one month old but I expect that she should still make effort to at least ask me how her godson is, even if she is unable to visit him. Should I relieve her of her godmother duties because it’s clearly not working for either of us. My baby isn’t baptised... we are not catholic. I just asked my friend and her husband to be godparents when I was pregnant
