Is it just me or is this a little OVER DRAMATIC? (Btw long story)

So I recently started a new job at a local daycare facility. I have been there a total of 10 days. Out of those 10 days I have been to 3 different facilities so I’m still getting used to all the rules, policies, and kids. I originally am only supposed to be at one location but they do no have their shit together... anyways one day last week i was sent to a different facility and I had my phone in my back pocket. ( sort of a habit to put it there). Well some ladies I met there had told their director about my phone being in my pocket while in the classroom and so their director told the director at my work location about it.

The director from my location had a “talk” with me about the whole phone situation. She called 2 other managers into the room with her just in case I happen to do anything but anyways she was like what I was told I am extremely disappointed, she said that she was told by multiple people that I have been on my phone in classrooms. I said wait, i have never been on my phone in classrooms. I did tell her that my phone was in my back pocket but I was never on it, and that I wasn’t aware of the no phone in pocket rule. She said I’m not saying your right and I’m not saying they’re right but I’m just warning you where you stand at. She told me that if it ever happens again I will be escorted off the property and I was like I’ve already had this talk with the assistant director and she was like well I was in a meeting all day and I needed to make sure I had the conversation as well and she’s going to make a note in my file about this whole situation.

After this conversation I was extremely upset because I feel like they made me out to be a horrible person and talked to me like I abused and disrespected the children. Since I had the conversation with the assistant director who was much nicer about the situation I’ve always kept my phone in my purse.

Any thoughts?
