Have you mommas located a pediatrician for your LO?

How do you go about selecting a pediatrician? Just now realizing that I should probably accomplish this in the next few weeks! I’m 36 weeks! Did you need to meet with a pediatrician or did you just do an online search? Do you have to do intake before the birth of your child? TIA!

Ask your friends or some local mom Facebook groups for recommendations. Then call and see if they have availability. They may have more questions for you or may not be taking more patients.

We were lucky and found one that also has a lactation consultant in the office which is def a plus!

Luckily the same pediatrician who was mine will be my little ones! I love them I would suggest asking friends and family for recommendations

Don’t forget that you can also take your baby to a family medicine doctor, doesn’t necessarily have to be a pediatrician per se. Especially helpful if you already have a doctor for yourself that you like.

Ask around and see what your insurance covers. We went and got a tour of the place as well. You can’t fill out any paperwork until baby is born, but you will want to have an idea of where you’re going since baby needs an appointment shortly after being born.

I had plans to do an informational call with a few. But my LO came early - so we were assigned one. Couldn’t be happier! This pedi will now see our second too.

I asked colleagues and friends for recommendations. Once I found a place I called and made sure they were accepting new patients with my insurance. No meet and greet. They said to give their name at the hospital and the pediatrician on staff that day will come by.
