Can I use baby powder on yeast rash?

I’m using gold bond baby powder with cornstarch in it on my baby’s bottom and yeast rash since nothing else is helping cure it. His dr. Gave him nystatin ointment to put on it 4 times a day but it still hasn’t cleared up 5 days later-in fact it still looks the same. Also I figure that the medicine is keeping it moist down there anyway so I use the powder to keep that area dry. Is yeast rash really this hard to go away? What else should I do?

Don’t put things on your baby’s butt that aren’t meant for that are. Go back and see your doctor again

You need an antifungal. If the nystatin isn’t working, me pediatrician recommended clotrimazole. It’s generic lotrimin and can be bought over the counter at any store. It cleared my daughters yeast rash in a day.

Like the others are saying, go see your doctor again. You might need a combination of yeast medication and steroids. And perhaps try another brand of diapers.
