Thoughts on a gap year?

I feel like the term "gap year" makes it sound like rich kids who can afford to travel and be free etc and enjoy life after high school before moving on with adulting lol which I mean I guess is cool if you were born into that ( not jealous or anything :p )
Though if you aren't sure what you want to do in college etc or want to work and save up money or get settled somewhere before getting back into school it might be a good idea too
I went straight from high school/vocational school to college but then dropped out of college after like a year and half don't plan on going back not for me... *shrugs*

My whole thing with a gap year is that I could never take one. For those of you who can, major props! 🙌. I know for a fact if I stopped going to school I’d never get my degree bc the sweet taste of freedom would make me happy enough haha

Depends on the type of person you are. Of course it’s fine to not go to college, but if you want to go and ur a lazy person and procrastinate and unmotivated (oh hey that’s me!) then a gap year could either be great or a very dangerous thing lol. Ik a guy who did a gal year, then another, and another. Now he’s not in college, workin at a job he hates already, he’s depressed and wishes he went to college and says he’s going to but never ends up doing it. 
I also know 4 of my cousins who took a gap year and they’ve almost now graduated college and it worked out great for them. 
You know yourself best so it’s up to you.

Honestly if you’re not motivated @ the end of your senior year I would suggest it. Personally I wish I would have done it because I had no motivation my freshman year of college and flunked both semesters and brought my gpa wayyyyy down.
