Does anyone know if I can do anything about this?

So my husband and I had to buy a truck 2 and a half years ago because we needed 2 vehicles. Anyway our bank gave us a loan for it. It was a used 2006 GMC Sierra. We bought it through a like secondhand dealership where my husband was “friends” with the guys there. Anyway, the truck is a pos and we’ve been keeping it running for my husbands commuting vehicle. We’re still paying on our loan. But we just found out recently that it’s a “total loss vehicle” we were never aware of this. The bank even gave us the loan saying it had a clean title. Not the case at all. We found this out because we moved to a different state and we had issues getting it insured. It took 2 months to get insurance because they kept covering it and dropping it several times and we couldn’t figure out what was going on because our other vehicles got covered fine. Anyhow we have been trying to speak with our banks loan officer that did the loan for us for a month! We have left messages called multiple times and she will not return our phone calls or answer when we call. So we tried to go above her and speak with another loan officer that we have worked with before, same thing suddenly doesn’t answer our calls nor return our calls after we have left messages. Now we have not been nasty about it or anything we just asked that they call us so we could ask them about it. So we are at a loss. We had no idea that this vehicle is a total loss and we still owe 16,000 on it. We don’t know what to do. I guess they were able to “wash” title so it’s a “clean” title before it got to us. We thought maybe we should write a letter to someone ? Idk, we don’t know where to turn. Any advice is appreciated
