Period 4 weeks long???

Idk if anyone has had this problem, but im honestly starting to get annoyed and a bit concerned. I have had my period for 1 month, it wasnt like an actual flow just some spotting it was rare if i had a lot of blood on my pad i couldnt even ware tampons because it was uncomfortable... But on Wednesday i was surprised when i woke up to blood on my bedding, sorry for the tmi, but now im leaking through a super strong flow tampon and honestly im starting to get scared that something is wrong with me... Basically i just need to know if this is normal or if i should just go check im to the dr.
