How was your labor?

How was your previous labor and delivery if you’ve already had children? I’m starting to get nervous 😩

8 hours of labor with my son. Got to the hospital at 5 centimeters! Received epidural shortly after and the rest I was smooth sailing! I pray this one goes as smooth. However I labor very quickly. It only slowed down due to me receiving the epidural

I was soooooo scared of labor before my first. It ended up being way easier than I anticipated! Had my first contraction around 2:30 am. Just very mild cramping like period cramps. Took a shower and ate something then went in at 4 am. Was only 2 cm at arrival so they had me walk around for an hour during which the contractions got fairly intense (but still definitely not the worst pain of my life). Had progressed after 45 min to 4 cm or so so they admitted me. Opted to get epidural minute I got to my room (7 am). After that was the most relaxing experience! My husband and I watched tv and read magazines. I felt pressure (like had to go #2) but NO pain. By noon I was 8 cm. Then by 1:15 was 10. Started pushing at 1:30 pm. Two sets of pushes / 15 minutes and she was born! It was a great experience. To each their own but I recommend an epidural. I am a physician and had delivered babies during medical school to moms with and without epidurals and saw the difference. I found the epidural experience wonderful! I truly enjoyed it. Best of luck! My first one was 28 hours long and 41 minutes of pushing. My second one was 5 hours long and 1 minute of pushing. I’m curious to see how this one will go.

Had to induce.   Baby never dropped, never effaced, never dilated!  Stubborn kiddo.   Took 22 hours from start to finish but only pushed for 10 minutes.   Recovery was better than I thought it would be!

my son was 41+2 when he was born. I didn't get induced and had a natural labor and delivery. It wasnt bad at all. I did get high blood pressure and his heart rate dropped and one point and they gave me demerol and explained that I was dilating quickly even though I wasnt in pain my body was under stress and it was either the local in my IV or risk emergency c-section and being put under... I had a Doctor's appointment that day at 3pm and by then I was in active labor and dilated to 5 sent to the hospital. About 6:30pm my doctor broke my water at the hospital and I was almost 7cm. It was around 7pm they gave me the demerol and it wore off about 45mins later and I was 10cm and time to push. I got to start pushing about 8pm and my son was born at 9:36pm. I  think pushing was the hardest part..I'm hoping this labor and delivery go about the same! it's okay to be nervous I'm having my second and my first born is almost 8 now! and I'm nervous like the first time just hoping it all goes how I want and is as laid back. and easy as the first time!

33 hours total, but only about 12 hours of that was painful and difficult. My Doctor let him son labor down and do most of the work and so i only pushed for 8 minutes. I was most scared for the pushing and actual birth...but that's the easiest part! Your body just takes over and does what needs to be done and it's actually relieving. The stuff before and after is what's painful. Luckily for the after you have a cute new baby to snuggle, which helps alleviate some of he discomfort!

My first was 6 hours in the hospital until I had my son, my 2nd was 3 weeks early and I had her in about 7 hours after being admitted and this time I’m gunna say it will be 4 hours and she will be 2/3 weeks early. Just my guess
