Does a cold sore mean std?

So ever since I’ve been with my bf (4 years) he occasionally gets a cold sore at the corner of his mouth. I’ve been tested when I go for my annual and everything comes back normal. Does a cold sore necessarily mean you have an std?

No. It’s not passable unless he actively kisses you with one or goes down on you with one. So his lips are totally off limits when he has one. When it goes away your fine. It’s highly contagious so don’t touch or anything while he actively has one. Abreva works good for it

Thing is once you get cold sores on your mouth you become immune to getting them and can even come in from shaving and the creasing in the lip lines on side of mouth I would defiantly not kiss him or anything until cleared though

Hsv 1 is the virus that gives you cold sores on your lips and around your mouth, it’s very common, but it’s still herpes simplex virus, and if you’ve ever had chicken pox you have the virus as well, and when you get older get a shingles shot because those are also hsv 1 virus outbreaks.
