How do you feel about a large age gap between children?

Our son will be 11 by the time his little brother or sister arrives. He is super excited and so are we. I just wanted to know how everyone else feels about it.

Welp for me it was bittersweet!
I have a 9 year old , 7 year old and 5 month old. Like I love the fact my other kids help out and very involved with their new baby sister. Again sucks how far apart they are. 
My SO & I are thinking to have one more but I am definitely not gonna wait like I did with my older kids if that’s the case.

I have a younger sister who is 9 years younger and a brother who is 10 years younger. I love it for many many reasons

I was 15 when my baby brother was born. I think it’s the best. I could actually appreciate and love him with the knowledge that he will only be little once. Kids don’t think about that. It’s great to have an age gap.

My sisters were 16, 13, and 10. Apparently they were very helpful and a timer had to be set for how long they could hold me. We love each other no different and never went through a competitive stage.

My family has a big age gap. My siblings are 14, 12, and 10 years older than me. It never bothered me growing up and it doesn't bother me now. 2 of my siblings made it a priority to get to know me and be apart of my life while my eldest brother didn't care to. I'm super close with my older 2 siblings and I'm glad I can always go to them for advice.

As someone with 3 siblings between 5 and 10 years older than me, I personally hated it and still kinda am sad about it even now. I get on with the oldest one and that’s it. And it’s more parental than sibling anyway.

I’m 11 and 13 years older than my baby sisters. Loved them to bits when they were born, kinda didn’t see them as much when I went to college (but I have other sisters so maybe if it was just them I would’ve tried harder), but now they’re adults and we’re very close. The youngest one is the sister I’m closest to.

I can only speak as someone with a brother 6 years older than me, we didn’t have a good relationship until about 7 months ago or so? And I’m 22. 🙃

I have a brother who is 12 years younger than me. We were close when he was little but as years went on and I moved away for college and got married, I can say now we hardly speak. It's like we don't really know each other. And thats not without trying. I called him daily when I first moved away and then it went to at least twice a month. As he got older he didn't care to talk on the phone and when I visited it was awkward like we didn't know each other.  I have two other siblings who are closer in age and we are very close. 
My older sister is the same way with our little brother, aren't close either. Even my other brother who is closer in age to the youngest and spent more time growing up with him isn't as super close to him like we are to each other.
