Yesterday I was traveling with some friends (and their kids). When we were on the bus, my daughter (13m) got upset/showed distress when my friends son(5y) started crying. She kind of tried to reach out to him. He was crying because he disliked how some other kids were being mean to another kid. And when he noticed my daughter in distress, as sensitive as he is, he tried to smile while his tears were still running down his cheeks, so that my daughter wouldnt be upset anymore. It was adorable to see them care for each other.

This got me wondering, is my daughters behavior normal at this age, or is this one of her characteristics starting to shine through?
