What age is too young for scary movies?

I started watching scary movies when I was about 6-8 years old I believe. My mom would always say no but my dad let me lol and I loved them then and I love them now. Just curious..

Depends on the kid and the movie. I watched It when I was 5 and I am still petrified to this day of clowns. I also watched plenty of other horror movies that didn’t impact me as much

I would prob say 13 depending on how scary it is lol scary movies scare me as an adult, a child would be terrified! And then you’d have to deal with their nightmares and not being able to sleep at night lol

I’ve been watching scary movies with my mom since I was really young, probably like 5-6. We would stay up and watch them. I loved it. Still my favorite genre to this day and I am a total pansy. 😝 
It all depends on the kid. I know I wouldn’t let my 5 year old niece watch it because she is scared of the octopus in Finding Dory. She cried like it came out of the screen and attacked her. & she was also super traumatized about Dory in general. So no real scary things for her.

I watched The Grudge when I was very young (3 or so). I'm still terrified of her, but I continued to watch movies like that and didn't have a problem except with her. It definitely depends on the kids though. Kids I was friends with hadn't ever seen a scary movie at like 8 or 9 and bawled when we watched Anaconda

Depends on the kid. My second cousins used to sit in their haunted basement with their chucky dolls at 2 & 4 and watch Jason movies. They loved it. They grew up to be fantastic young adults as well and they’re not weird at all 😂
I was the only scaredy cat. I was the only one with a jacked up home life too. My cousins and second cousins all had loving well adjustments home lives and their kids loved scary movies and weren’t scared at all.

My Dad let me watch Child’s Play when I was either 5 or 6 and I slept in my parents bed about a month and wouldn’t let my mom be alone. Ever. I also demanded all dolls be burned. BURNED. My mom was so pissed at my dad. A couple years later I went and saw Lost World and same scenario. I still struggle with horror films now

Depends on the kid and the movie I guess. My mom used to let me watch Freddy when my dad was out of town when I was around 5. I thought it was cool back then. 🤣

My daughter is almost 5 and she watched the walking dead when she went and visited back home with family 😒 I don’t let her watch it, or anything like that, but she had no problems from it that I’ve noticed.
