Can I rant for a sec?!

I am so excited to be expecting our second baby in April. We already have a 2.5yo daughter who is stunning and amazing, and we're over the moon about bringing home a friend for her. 
However, EVERYBODY feels that they need to share their opinion on this baby's gender. Everyone says "oh it's a boy" presumably because we already have a girl. I'm 14w3d and we don't know yet what we're having, but now I'm like 💭 well, what if its a girl and everyone gets disappointed and then isn't excited any more!?
My mom keeps talking about how she hopes its a boy; please let it be a boy. She has 1 grandchild of each but it's really putting stress on me. 
We actually would love to have a second girl, but obviously will be thrilled either way. 
Is this legit to be upset about, or am I just being hormonal?!

Don’t find out the sex. Or if you do...tell people in a way that is not up for discussion...
Eg.... “so we found out the sex and it’s a GIRL! We are so excited!! Lucky (other daughter) gets to have a sister bond! That is so special!!! Could not be happier! And we can reuse her clothes!! So many cute outfits that get to be seen again!”
Then stare them down with a “I will end you if you mention any disappointment” look 😏

YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID! I was upset about the same! People wishing what YOU have. I had my first son and then 4 years later we became pregnant again with our second child. Everyone assumed I wanted a girl this time since I had a boy. I told them no, I want another boy! They would tell me I was lying and that I wanted a girl but didn’t want to say that in case it was a boy. I was over the moon when we found out it was ANOTHER boy! Here we are pregnant with our rainbow baby after two miscarriages since trying to conceive after our second son. Everyone once again assumed I wanted a girl! I just want a healthy baby that sticks after the miscarriages we endured. My friend wanted to throw a gender reveal and I told her no. I didn’t want people to be disappointed or show less excitement or affection if they found out it was a boy. We found out we are indeed having a girl, but got to share the excitement together and with our kids and then told people after. I wanted to wait to tell people until baby was born, but the husband wanted it out in the open so people could stop asking.

Opposite gender but same situation. Everyone is hoping it is a girl. Well guess what...it is a boy. 
Just so i dont hear it anymore, i made a big deal about a gender reveal so when the find out it is another boy and hear how excited we are, they will lay off.

We found out we were having another girl last night! 💗 everyone was like oh y’all still have to try for a boy! 🙄😂 we actually wanted another girl & it’s hard for everyone to believe that because to them the “perfect” family is boy/girl! We are super excited that our daughters will have each other growing up & I completely understand how you feel!

I feel the same way! We have a girl already and it makes me super angry when people assume we are hoping for a boy. It's as if a boy is better or having one of both is better and it makes me so mad because I was actually hoping slightly more for a girl so my daughter could have a sister to be best friends with. But, we found out we are having a boy and I am still so happy of course, but part of me is ready to punch people in the throat if they say anything about how we must be so much happier to have the second be a boy vs a girl.

Yes! I can relate! Im having a completely boy like pregnancy. On my side there hasn’t been a girl for a while, my only niece is 11. On his side there’s only been 3 girls born In the last 200 years! They are very much a boy family. So we were thinking we’d have a boy. EVERYONE made me feel awful about the chance of having a boy. I get being “team blue” or “team pink” but when it becomes obsessive it’s wrong. It will be our first child and after miscarriages i just want a healthy baby. I literally had family members say “I won’t be happy if it’s not a girl.” “I hope it’s a girl! My life would be complete.” “Can you imagine a little girl with your sass and Glens (husband) curls?” We even had family members make up girl names to call it 🙄🙄 I felt awful that no one would be happy if it’s a boy. I felt like they were robbing us. So much so that we decided that my husband and I will find out the gender before our family. And we plan to know for weeks before announcing so we can truly enjoy it before other people try to say something rude. Well we found out it’s a girl! Everyone will be ecstatic, but I’m still happy to have it a secret between my husband and I. I’m not sure why everyone’s so obsessed with a gender that they actually get vocal about it! I’ve been so surprised by their rudeness during this pregnancy. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this! When you just want a healthy pregnancy it’s sad when people have to soul it with their judgment.

I didn’t want to find out what we are having. This is our first. And everyone and mostly I mean his family they’re all like a girl and blah blah blah. My mom super chill she’s just glad she’s going to be a grandma. It’s so annoying and then people start asking if we thought of names and they wanna share their stupid names they like!
