First cold?

Has any of your little ones have their first cold yet? My son is 8 weeks old today and seems to have a congested nose and dry cough that all of a sudden appeared this afternoon. How'd you help them? Did you call the pediatrician? Am I just being a very anxious FTM and he will be fine with just some extra snuggles?

Mines been congested for weeks I was told to do saline drops and nose frida and then to nurse her in the bathroom with the shower on to steam it up. I notice a big difference when we get out of bathroom

I’m a FTM and my little boy had a cold at 3 weeks so you could imagine how much I was freaking out! I called my pediatrician maybe every day😂 humidifier, bulb suction, and constant snuggles is what he suggested. It took 2 weeks to get over

Mine has a cold right now. She has been fighting it for like 2 weeks (on and off), and did have a fever for about 24 hours. I called the doc, and they said to keep an eye on it, undress her to lower the fever, offer Tylenol to help with discomfort and fever. For the congestion, I was told to use a humidifier, saline nasal spray, snot sucker (I like the little remedies bulb, because it sucks well and fits nicely up the tiny noses). On a really bad night, they said I could prop her bassinet mattress slightly to keep it from settling in her chest. Plenty of back pats to keep things loose, and movement to avoid mucus settling. If there’s any sign of distressed breathing, immediately call, as it is RSV season. Good luck! Baby colds are the worst! Oh, and LOTS of snuggles!!!

Mine has one now, 10 weeks old. Stuffy nose and wet cough. I took mine to pediatrician just because he’s so young. They listened to his lungs which were clear and as long as the cough isn’t a dry barky cough or they’re not wheezing or having stridor then there’s not much you can do. I’ve been doing saline spray in nostrils and using my Nose Frieda to suck it out ( kinda gross but it works)!
