BP Medication?

Question

Anyone taken blood pressure medication and it actually help keep it down? I’m starting it today and really want to wait to deliver until I’m 39 weeks.

They have me on nifedipine. I haven’t noticed it lowering it much, but it took away all of my swelling. Doctor is inducing me next Wednesday. A little over 38 weeks.

I’ve been on since my first pregnancy. It didn’t help then but it is the 2nd time around. I delivered my first at 35 weeks 5 days due to severe preeclampsia. I now take BP meds 2x a day and a baby aspirin. So far so good. I’m also hoping to make it to my scheduled c section at 39 weeks 1 day.
