First ultrasound?

Question

So just found out a week ago and according to the app I’m around 6 weeks 3 days. I have a Drs appt booked for when I’m 7.5 weeks...
I’ve seen different ppl saying they had a vaginal ultrasound and some that had the stomach u/s for their first visit 
Why would Drs choose one over the other? 
Just trying to get an idea of what to expect for my first appt...

Vaginal ultrasounds are more sensitive for early in pregnancy. The ultrasound waves only have to go through your cervix rather than an abdominal scan which the waves are traveling through layers and layers of tissue and organs. Baby is a little chocolate chip at this stage so the more clear and accurate, the better!

Vaginal gets a better picture and heartbeat since the baby is so small. It can be more accurate really early on than a regular u/s

For my last pregnancy I did vaginal at 8 weeks.
