Zofran at 10 weeks?

Hi, mommies! Does anyone have experience with Zofran? I’ve tried phenergan and another type of nausea medicine that DID NOT work. I have horrid morning sickness, it’s so bad. I called my OB crying yesterday because I hadn’t eaten in three days. They prescribed me 8mg of Zofran every 8 hours. She said it’s safe past 10 weeks and I started taking at 10+4. But I’ve read it can cause horrible birth defects like heart problems and cleft palate?! Anyone have experience with Zofran while pregnant? I’m high-risk due to PPROM at 18 weeks during my first and only pregnancy.

I’m 8 weeks and been taking it since I was 6 weeks. 
The doctor prescribes it on your first appointment. 
Honestly as sick as I’ve been, I truly believe any small risk of something happening is worth the benefit of be taking it. 
I take 4mg every 2-4 hours.

I started on it a few days after finding out I was pregnant due to a trip to urgent care for hyperemesis. So around 4 weeks till now and I'm 19.4. Anatomy scan is on the 22nd, so I won't know if they were negatively affected till then.

I literally just posted this same question this morning! I am also 10 weeks and miserable. B6/unisom, diclegis and promethazine dis nothing. I went ahead and filled my zofran script. 4 mg 2x a day...kicked in in 30 minutes and I just ate something other than pudding for the first time in 5 weeks. The nausea is gone. The pit in my stomach is mostly gone. From my research: the one study that seems to indicate birth defects was a very small study and done by a competing company. There have been larger studies since that indicate no birth defect issues from it. There just aren't enough studies yet for the FDA to approve it safe for pregnancy. But all indicators are that it is. I need to give my babe some nutrition, be functional and not be miserable.

I took it with my first pregnancy because i couldnt keep any food down and lost 20lbs.  I gave birth to a very healthy baby boy ❤

I took Zofran with both of my pregnancies and my kids are just fine. I’m currently pregnant with my second, but we have not been told of any concerns with my baby. He’s a healthy growing baby. My daughter is 3 and she is 100% healthy, no issues or birth defects

I still have morning sickness and I’m 30 weeks. I started taking Zofran sadly at 20 weeks. I wish I would’ve been prescribed earlier.

I took it and had a healthy baby boy and so did my best friend! It's safe. Every medicine has their risk! I wouldn't have survived without it
