Advice?

So I'm a sophomore at a community college and most days I take a bus from the school, to the bus station and then to my house. Well when I got the the bus station I went to go grab a coffee from inside but before that I sit down for a few, as I walk in i make direct eye contact with these 2 guys maybe in their 30's? I don't think of it and I sit down with my earbuds in, and then one guys gets up and walks my way and says " I'm sorry to bother you miss but your hair looks beautiful, what color is that?" (Currently it's she's a dark maroonish red) I awkwardly response with it's just red and he goes " well my name is JonJon and both you and your hair look beautiful" I awkwardly smile and put my ear buds back in but no music. He goes back to his buddy and I can hear them talking about me while stairing at me. Is it bad that I felt uncomfortable and unsafe? Or am I over reacting and he was just being nice? What if this happens again?
