Can babies have off days with babbling??

Question

My 7.5 month old son just had his ears checked and they said everything was fine so I guess that leads me to ask do babies have off days where they just don’t babble or are they supposed to babbled every day? I asked my pediatrician and she didn’t acknowledge the question so I figured it was stupid so I figured I will ask my stupid question here lol and maybe someone will be nice and answer it

I guess it’s just like us - some days we’re feeling tired, maybe a bit unwell or just generally blah and we don’t talk as much. I haven’t really noticed days where my daughter doesn’t babble but she definitely has days where she babbles way more than others. I wouldn’t worry too much about it

My LO (8 months today) is all or nothing... some days he’s SO chatty , others he barely makes a peep 🤷‍♀️

Totally. Some days, my baby would babble all day. Other days, he would shriek all day. Other days, he would be mostly quiet and babble if he saw the kitty. Now that he’s nine months, he often hums or laughs to himself, babbles a good portion of the day, and shrieks. He has his quieter moments, but he talks a lot now.

I think it could just be an off day, don’t worry too much unless you notice it’s becoming more and more frequent or lasts several days or something. Also, don’t feel stupid for asking questions to the ped, doesn’t matter if they think you’re stupid, you’re trying to take care of your baby as best you can. I can’t tell you the countless times I’ve asked ‘stupid’ questions, or brought my baby in when I have a concern, it’s our job to be SURE our kiddos are happy and healthy
