So I have 2 boys from a previous marriage, a daughter and currently expecting from my SO now. My ex is just there, pays min cs, doesn't do school functions, dr appt, he's the bare min dad. My SO goes above and beyond for my boys, great protector, provider, hes their coach, involved in school, takes them to appts if needed, basically does everything a dad should. He gets hurt that the kids dont acknowledge him as much as their dad. To them dad is #1. I feel like he wants them to call him dad and eventually I would like that too. But if it came from the kids. I'm not forcing them to call him dad. Anyone every have a similar situation? I feel like I'm in the middle here.
