Painting the walls while pregnant?

I’m posting this to see your opinions. Everyone makes me so mad telling me I should not paint the walls in my house or be around it if someone else is painting because it can hurt the baby. However, I asked my doctor and she said it’s totally fine. She said to be safe I could just keep it well-ventilated in the space. People are so annoying and act like they know things but 1. You didn’t go to medical school so stop telling me what i can and can’t do 2. You don’t have to take continuing ed classes to stay up to date with the latest research. Lol sorry needed to vent. I’m mostly hearing this from my grandma, mother in law, and hubby. So annoying

I mean I guess I’ll get back to you in about 8 weeks but I’ve helped paint almost every room in the house we bought back in July and no issues so far 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve just had windows open and a fan going when I did it. I’m pretty sure that’s really more of a caution from the old lead paint days, obviously don’t stick your face in the can to snuff it or anything lol but if your dr said it’s fine then I’d say it’s fine!

Well first, it depends on the paint. There are formulas and colors that emit fumes and some are made to be very minimal. I used ppg diamond and couldn’t even smell it whereas I do my spray painting outside and upwind.

If you’re going to do it I’d definitely get a mask. I found that the paint fumes made me light headed and nauseous if I wasn’t wearing a mask. So you might want to have one on hand just in case.

The only problem I had with painting was the step ladder. No matter what I did I got dizzy going up it.

I painted both my oldest sons nurseries when I was pregnant with them, I had the windows open and I was fine

I’ve painted my entire house when pregnant with my 1st, then when pregnant with my 2nd we gave downstairs a new lick of paint. And next week we painting our living room before baby comes I’m 34wks. All my babies have been healthy even with me painting through there pregnancy.. 👍🏻😊

We painted our entire downstairs last pregnancy and have done most of the upstairs this time. Baby is fine and so is my now two year old.
