How do I know my Mirena is working ?

I got my Mirena in last December. The last few months my period has been off. Like I get it then two weeks later it’s back he. Four weeks then two etc. I am going away with my guy this week. I’m kinda nervous that my iud isn’t quite right and I don’t want to end up pregnant. Thoughts please.

You check your strings and you just know it's working. As long as it's there it's working. Irregular periods are the main side effect and irregular can mean anything from bleeding all the time, never bleeding, and all sorts of combos in between

Agree with checking your strings. The only other way is to take a test. As long as it was placed correctly it works.

It can alter & stop your period. If you’re concerned take a pregnancy test & use condoms. But it’s a very effective form of birth control, you’re probably fine.
