Taking a break from IUI or not?

Question

First IUI failed so now on to the second one. I wonder if it is better to do IUI consecutively for every cycle or take a break inbetween. I heard that one of the side effects of clomid is to make the uterus lining thin. I have much lighter period this time so I guess that’s the clomid effect. Taking a break would be more helpful? Or is it better to do consecutively? I’m 41 yrs old so I don’t have much time to waste though.

I have heard mixed thoughts on this. My dr has told me to do multiple cycles back to back as your odds of it working tend to peak around your third round. I’d keep going to improve your body’s response rate. I had planned to do about 4-5 round in succession. So far I’m not taking ovulatory drugs, so I can see your concern. If your lining is getting to thinned out, talk to your dr. They can give you estrace or a similar medication that helps beef the lining up. When you start on your period, drink red raspberry leaf tea and tons of pure pomegranate juice. Give yourself uterine massages too (all stimulate blood flow to encourage lining growth). That all worked for me (on top of taking baby aspirin). Good luck to you!
