Is IUI even worth trying?

Question

Hi, I have been doing a lot of research and it doesn’t seem that a lot of women get pregnant with IUI (this website included), I’m starting to wonder if it’s something Doctors do to make more money if you before making even more money from IVF. My friend had 8 failed attempts at IUI! Whereas I read IVF has a 60% success rate for my age. Is IUI it even worth trying? I am thinking of going straight to IVF? Thank you!

It really is a roll of the dice. My friend got pregnant on her 2nd IUI, and another is getting ready for her 5th IVF transfer. There’s no guarantee either way, unfortunately.

IVF isnt a guarentee either. You pretty much play a risk if do you want to try the cheaper option first or not.

I sure hope so. We’re doing our first IUI in a few weeks! 
I know the odds aren’t as good with IUI but I’m scared to do IVF right now. It’s a lot more drugs, a lot more procedures and a lot more money. At least with IUI we have a less invasive option to try first and hopefully we’ll be one of the lucky ones.

Depends on a lot!(age, male factor..) It’s worked for me 3 times. I lost one to miscarriage but it def works for me!!

I was asking myself the same questions before trying IUI - and I’m asking myself those questions again now since my second IUI failed. I’m trying to determine if I do one more or move on to IVF. Even though my two cycles failed, I don’t regret them. I feel like a needed to try the less invasive option, because it does work sometimes. Fingers crossed and lots of baby dust to you ✨

My 2nd IUI worked...currently at 11 weeks.  I thought it was worth it because it sounded less invasive compared to IVF.

We went through 6 failed IuI cycles. Got lucky with our first ivf cycle with a frozen Transfer

It’s worth a shot! Less invasive and a medicated cycle could really boost your chances!
