Are you making enough changes to cut plastic waste out your lifestyle?

With a lot of people in the uk trying to live more sustainably and reduce single use plastic after learning how bad the state of the ocean is in, I wondered if it was happening in other countries as well. Some places are doing awesome, whereas the UK is improving in some areas but slowly.

It's estimated there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050. It never fully biodegrades. :( There are trillions of tiny microplastics in the sea that come from cosmetics (banned in the UK last year) and textiles such as polyester clothes when they're washed.

The plastic absorbs all the toxic chemicals leached into the sea such as pesticides and is eaten by fish, whales and other sea creatures. We then eat the contaminated fish!

The manufacturers of corporations only care about profit, so it's consumers that need to change. If we stop buying the plastic they will stop producing it.

It's working slowly!

I'm doing well in the parenting area (cloth everything, wooden toys, second hand clothes, reusable straws) but my bathroom still has a lot of plastic in which is what I'm hoping to change next.

Are you doing enough? What would you like to change in your home/life?

Do you think it's possible to reverse the damage humans have done?
