Are you telling anyone when you go into labor?

Question

Are you going to tell your family when you get to the hospital? I dont want my in laws coming up and sitting around for 20+ hours constantly texting for updates. That's the last thing I'll want happening while I'm trying to get through it. Ugh.

We didn't tell anyone until 3 days after baby was born.

We just went out for dinner with my SO’s parents last night and they were going on and on about how they can’t wait to hear that I’m going into labour.  They made it very clear that they wanted to be at the hospital during all of it.  Ummm no!  His dad works two hours away and lives there during the week.  We’ll call them when we think it’s happening so that he can drive back home but we’re going to tell them to stay home until it’s closer to the time and then not cal them until the baby is born and just be like “it got so chaotic, oops!”.  Hopefully I go into labour in the middle of the night and can tell them to stay sleeping so that they’re well rested during the day.

I made that mistake the first time around. I had a room full of people staring at me and crying (he was 11 weeks early) it was so stressful. Above not knowing what shape he would be in and if he would make it I had people trying to tell me what to do. No. Thank. You. I told the nurse everyone out except my husband. 
Second baby the only person that knew was my brother because he sat at our house with our oldest. 
Pregnant again and my mom was already insisting I call her when we go to the hospital. I told her no. Once again whoever is watching the kids will know. I am really hoping my water breaks at like 6am. Then we can just drop the kids off at daycare and go to the hospital and not one person would know.

I’m only telling the ones that will be in the room with me. 1. My Mom 2. My SO and 3. My Grandmother.. 
My grandmother and my mom will not be up here till I am about to start pushing.
But other then that I don’t expect anyone else, if someone else wants to come I made it clear to call first before just showing up. No one whom didn’t get there tdap and flu shot will hold baby.

Nope only after baby is born. The only people we tell are those caring for our older children and know better than to show up without being invited.

The only family that will know will be my mother.  She will be taking care of my older daughter while I’m at the hospital.  My husband will notify his family after the baby is born because I don’t want any visitors other than my daughter (and my mother will be with her) until I’ve been admitted to the maternity ward and have cleaned up.

I was literally talking to my fiancé about this the other day, if I wasn’t having a csection I would only tell the ones who are watching my son while I’m in the hospital!

I’m not telling anybody until I at least get to 6 cm. They live over 2 hours away and don’t want them coming too soon and then have to go home because of false labor. I also won’t be telling anybody else if I get induced or am in labor so my husbands phone won’t be blown up.
