So I told my best friend I just had a misscarage and she texted me saying ugh that must have been sad and then without hesitation sent me a picture of home decor she wants for her house? Should I be pissed? I get some people don’t know how to act but i just don’t get it?

Maybe she was trying to take your mind off of it?
I’m more of an listener. Like you can dump it all on me. I’m not a consoler especially thru text. Maybe try to call her. If she still seems insensitive to you then don’t talk to her about that type of stuff.

My ex was abusive and drowning in addiction and I’ve had a lot of people say “aren’t you glad you didn’t have the baby” as a way to comfort me 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

My best friend did this when I told her over the phone. She changed the subject, so I just told her that I wasn’t feeling good and needed to get off the phone and hung up. She called back and apologized, and said she didn’t know how to deal with it. She was super supportive after that.

I’ve had multiple miscarriages and from my experience people will never say what we think they should say. And even if they said something super nice it’s never comforting enough. I wouldn’t take it to heart. She probably didn’t know how to react to that. It’s a common thing but people don’t talk about it so no one knows how to respond. Just know you are not alone. It sucks so bad and I’m sorry you are going through this.

I went through major hell starting a family. And I learnt not every friend is the right friend to confide in about this kind of stuff. Some knew exactly what I needed and some did shit like this. No you’re not being insensitive. She gave you zero opportunity to vent and a good support system would let you cry. Let you grieve. I don’t think many people that do this mean any harm, it’s just they don’t know how to be there for you. I’m very sorry about your loss. Please find someone to let you grieve this with. This friend is not the right one. ❤️

I think she was being insensitive. 
This is something that really hurts miscarriage are horrible. I had the my friend due the same thing to me. I told I had a miscarriage says she so sorry then texted my she is so stressed out about work drama and sees if I could talk to her give her advice.  Seriously WTF I just texted back are you serious. The sad part is that I get a lot of comments like this often. This is why I avoid people now.

Perhaps she was avoiding the topic because she was uncomfortable and didn’t really know what to say. I personally have a very hard time with emotions and empathy. It’s very hard for me to discuss hard emotional topics with people because of it. I just get super anxious, uncomfortable, and then I feel like a complete jerk because of it. Loss in general is a hard thing for most people to talk about because if they haven’t personally experienced it, they typically have no idea what to say.
