Obgyn or regular md?

Question

My questions about pelvic floor help and postpartum stuff. May seem like a duh question but my midwife made it seem like other than birth control and pregnancy, she’s pretty much out of the question. Should I see my primary care doctor?
I’m 5 1/2 months pp and something just doesn’t feel right in my abdominal cavity and pelvic floor.

Neither, or either. You need to get a referral to a physical therapist specialized in pelvic problems. Check your insurance, I didn’t need a referral and could go straight away.

I’d ask an OBGYN. They may refer you to a pelvic floor PT. That’s what mine did.

OBGYN and depending on what needs to be assessed they may refer you to a urogynecologist or to pelvic floor rehab. I used to work in a GYN office that specialized in menopausal women so we had a lot of patients with pelvic floor issues/prolapse.
