Uncommon Topic: Men with Baby fever.
So I was laying in bed with my boyfriend and out of the blue he goes “Hormones are weird”. It’s like 7:45 am at this point and I’m confused so I ask “why?”. He then tells me “My body tells me to put a baby in you, but my mind goes Nooo”. He has never liked kids. Even though he is great around them. He knows I love kids, I have always wanted them. When we first got together he was very adamant about not having kids, I just thought, he is young still give him time, and as the two years has came and gone, he has become more open to having them. His mom has three boys and you know she tried three times for a girl and never had one, but my boyfriend and I have talked about it and he knows then it comes time to having kids we need to try for a girl because his mom will cry if we have more boys. She will be happy regardless but she really wants a little girl. But I never realized that men had baby fever. It never crossed my mind that him watching me with babies would make him think like that. I have explained to him on several occasions that when I see a baby or hold a baby my uterus screams you need one, you have to have it, all of your hormone levels rise and pretty much go into over driving thinking about having a baby even when my mind knows better and tells me it’s not a good idea ( I’m on birth control, the IUD so I’m covered and I did it because of this reason) Until today he has never expressed that he wanted to put a baby in me like that. Because the way he said it, if we were in a position to have a baby we would have definitely started making one at 7:45 this morning. Not only that but lately at work (we work together) he has been pointing out babies, like yesterday this chubby baby and his parents came in to eat and he was like “Did you see the baby at my table, he is so chubby” I told him that I had to stay away because I would and to sit and play with him vs working lol y’all what is it about chubby babies that are so freaking cute!? I just want to squeeze their cheeks and tickle their fat little baby belly. Women are known for having baby fever, we can look at them and get it, hell I can go trough the clothes isle at Walmart and see baby clothes and have it, but I feel like men don’t discuss this as much. They don’t express their need to have babies, and I just never thought about it until this morning.
