Anyone test positive for GSB?

This is my second pregnancy and my first I tested negative for GSB. Just got my results for this one and I tested positive. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and will talk about it with my doctor then. Anyone else have this and what does it mean? Will it interfere with trying for a VBAC?

Yea tested positive in first pregnancy. Only thing they do is give antibiotics during labor thru iv drip. Doesnt affect laboring at all.

I just tested positive too and from my understanding it doesn’t affect labor. You’ll need antibiotics like the other ladies said to prevent your little one from catching it. I guess if antibiotics weren’t administered, the baby would be at risk of infections and pneumonia.

I was the same way. Negative for my first but positive for my second and now negative for my third. My second was a csection though but from what I’ve read you’ll just get iv antibiotics while your in labor and it shouldn’t interfere with having a vbac

I’m waiting on my results still but in our birthing class they told us you just need to try to get to the hospital a bit earlier so you can get your antibiotics through the ob before baby arrives (so less time spent laboring at home)

Shouldn’t interfere with your VBAC, you just can’t Labor at home as long as you have to get antibiotics into your system (via IV)  prior to delivering vaginally.

I tested positive. It honestly just means you need an IV of antibiotics at delivery.
