Diapers with soft waist parts?

I LOVE the Kirkland brand diapers because they were perfect for my baby but the stretchy waist part with the Velcro that you affix to the front cuts into my babies hips now that he's crawling a lot. They're definitely the right size but the material is too thick (which I liked before because I felt like they would never break, but now they are causing issues). We're using Cuties brand temporarily which are perfect for softness but I'm not sure about the absorbency. I know Luvs are very soft on the sides too but I honestly hate them. Any other brands that have very soft sides where it covers baby's hips?
