Breastfeeding and AF: predictable or not?

Hey, ladies, I have a 9 month old son and I am still breastfeeding. Last month AF reared her ugly head. 👎 AF was due 6 days ago, and I I’ve been experiencing mild cramping since yesterday, but no period.
I took 2 pregnancy tests today (they seem to be negative), but I’m confused with what my body is doing. I assumed AF would resume a regular and predictable schedule, but is that not the case when breastfeeding???

It could take a while before it goes back to normal, with my first I got it a month after I had him and regularly each month after that,but now with My daughter I had it last month & now nothing it's probably the body just trying to adjust

I got mine back at 6 months, then skipped month 7 and then they returned from month 8 regularly. Don't worry too much at the minute x

I’m in the same boat... had 1 period around 6 mo pp , now 11 days “late”

Mine started back at 5.5months pp, I had one at 6.5 months and I'm still waiting for the next one (now 10 months). I spoke to my family doctor about it because another doctor said it was off and he said it's totally normal while BF (I trust my family doctor more than the other doctor).
