How often to you hear from/spend time with the In-Laws?

My husband is really close to his family, both in proximity and relationship-wise. He hears from them every day, and a few times a week they’ll ask us to come over or if they can come over. I love being close to his family because they’re just super awesome people, but how often is too often?

I love my in laws, I consider myself very lucky to be married into this family. We see them once or twice a week and that's plenty! Only Bec we have stuff going on in our lives and can't dedicate that much time to see them.

I have almost no contact with them. I would see them on occasion when we lived near then (like a couple times a year maybe), but now that we live 2 hours away I haven't seen them in over a year. My fiance works near them so a few times a year he stops over to say "hey"..
Honestly, I'm not that impressed with his family.  I mean, we get along fine. There's no drama or anything.. but my man is, if I do say so myself, pretty fucking incredible. He tries to nurture a relationship with his family and they don't really put in any effort back to maintain the relationship.  He deserves better. We're honestly not even sure they will show up to our wedding next year. They kinda suck a family-ing..

My husband runs the family business and I help out there now since quitting my job so I see my mother in law 4 days a week. She doesn't work Friday's. 😂 My husband talks to both parents almost daily, even if it's just by text for his father. However, we only see my father in law maybe once or twice a month. That being said, they don't help with our children and the relationship can sometimes be rocky with them and it drives me nuts when they call at 10 oclock at night  whining that their tv broke and my husband needs to fix it. He doesn't know how to set boundaries with them.

We cut ties with everyone in my family except my dad and sister. So it was important for me that my daughter be close to my inlaws. They are a close nit family. We talk to them as regularly as possible with everyone having a full time job. We make an effort to see each other once a week and 1 weekend a month, they take our daughter (and the 2 other grands) for the weekend. My FIL is trying to get a job at the company where my husband works, and if that happens, they will talk every day. We live 20 min away from them so it's easy to pop in but I do wish we saw each other more. Family is important to me and I want us to spend as much time as we can together.

We usually go over to my SOs sister’s house once a week and his older niece and nephew spend the night 1-2 a month with us

Never. We've had dinner with his dad once this year, then twice about three years ago. Have not spent any time with his mom in a decade.

Just his mum, she pops over every week to see me and my son :) she’s lovely! So happy to have a nice MIL now 😂

My family is extremely close. Currently my mom has taken time off work to help with my toddler and newborn. So I see her multiple times a week. Usually it's at least once, every Sunday for dinner. We talk at least every other day. 
My husband's family is polar opposite. MIL hasn't been around since August 31st. They haven't talked in a week and a half either. She'll blame me for why she hasn't come around. Even though my husband told her if she doesn't come visit our son at least once a month then she doesn't need to at all because he's sick of the in/out of his life. Plus now we have a daughter. She never came to see our son for his birthday nor has she come to see our daughter. (She's 3 weeks old. ) His family is just down right horrible.

I’m in a similar boat, but my in laws live in a different country. Still, my husband talks to his parents and siblings like twice a day, they’ll just randomly call. I like the fact that he’s family oriented, but sometimes they call at odd times and I wish they’d respect our “us time.”

That’s too often, IMO. (I do not get along with my MIL and try to avoid seeing/speaking to her as much as possible.) However every relationship is different... so if it doesn’t bother to be around them that much, then it’s all good.
