Career in Substance Abuse

In the past I’ve worked at a physicians office as an assistant and now I’m an educator at a health department. I don’t love my job. And I saw a posting for a position for a family support specialist at a recovery center. This person assists family members and friends of people struggling with addiction and helps connect them to services within the community. Anybody have any experience in a similar position? What did you like and what did you dislike?
