Prodromal labor experiences?

A

To the best of my understanding “prodromal labor” are more painful than BH, but don’t progress like actual labor. I’m 32.2 and spent TWENTY hours yesterday with period cramps that wrapped around to my back, uterine tightening (like a BH), frequent urges to use the bathroom, and several rounds of take-your-breath-away contractions 10-15 minutes apart.

I went to L&D because it’s so early, no external cervical changes. NOT DEHYDRATED. Not a result of over exerting myself.

Then they stopped, I slept (wedged into a semi comfortable position by 8000 pillows and a heating pad) I still have very minor niggling pain down low but I’m concerned that these have started so early.

Anyone dealt with prodromal labor in previous pregnancy? How long before real labor did they begin? I’m hoping to make it to 36 weeks at least... and then I consider feeling like this for several hours a day for a month or more 😬😬

I am meeting with a new hospital/birth team today and plan to ask them if I need to be concerned about true preterm labor, if I should consider steroid shots, or other preventative measures in case little dude makes an early entry but I’d love some anecdotes also, if anyone has any Xx
